Applications are invited for a two-year Research Fellowship (postdoctoral or sabbatical) in Echinoderm or Bryozoan Paleontology. This appointment provides salary ($45 K/yr), benefits, and a modest research/travel allowance ($2.5 K/yr). The successful applicant will be expected to conduct independent macroevolutionary and/or macroecological research including but not limited to systematics, paleoecology, functional biology, etc., and involving NMNH echinoderm or bryozoan collections. The awardee also will be expected to be involved in the scholarly activities of the department. Priority will be given to proposals that contribute to the curation of NMNH fossil echinoderm or fossil bryozoan collections.

Applicants should have a proven record of research accomplishment and knowledge of fossil echinoderms or fossil bryozoans. For postdoctoral awards, a Ph.D. is required before 31 September 2012.
