Postdoctoral en Irlanda para estudiar Icnofósiles

Parece que vuelve a animarse la oferta de trabajo para paleontólogos en Europa. Os adjuntamos una oferta postdoctoral para estudiar icnofósiles en la University College Dublin.

The Irish Research Council for Science, Engineering and Technology (IRCSET) has recently announced its EMPOWER 2009 Postdoctoral Fellowship Scheme. The programme provides two years salary at an Irish institution plus limited monies for research-related activities. Further details can be found at
http://www.ircset.ie/grant_schemes/postdoctoral.html.

We are interested in hearing from palaeobiologists who are in the process of completing, or who have recently completed, their PhD who might wish to consider working at University College Dublin as part of the UCD School of Geological Sciences. Our existing research interests are varied. They include trace fossils and ichnofabrics, in particular their use to decipher short-term changes in environmental conditions, and their expression within a sequence stratigraphic context. We also research the taphonomy of exceptional faunas using fossil material and experimental analogues. We are, of course, also keen to hear from those researching other aspects of the taphonomy of both invertebrate and vertebrate fossils, including biomineralised tissues and microfossils. In particular, we are interested in the development of phenomena such as shell beds and bone beds within basins.

Informal enquiries can be addressed to Patrick.Orr@ucd.ie
