El 15 de diciembre del 2021 es una fecha a anotar. Nuestra
aragosaurera Gloria Cuenca va a leer su discurso de entrada a la Real Academia
de ciencias exactas, físicas, químicas y naturales de Zaragoza. Es la primera
vez que una aragosaurera forma parte de una Real Academia de Ciencias. El acto
será a las 19 horas en el salón de Grados de la Facultad de Ciencias de la
universidad situada en el Campus de la Plaza San Francisco. Su presentación es
pública y por tanto puede asistir cualquier persona interesada.

Gloria ha preparado un discurso bien chulo titulado ¿Humanidad vs Biodiversidad? Una perspectiva con roedores fósiles. Hace un repaso del registro fósil de roedores en el pleistoceno ibérico y lo relaciona con el registro de homínidos. Lo que pretende es reconocer si las extinciones de la pequeña fauna de roedores durante el último millón de años están relacionadas con la presencia humana, como al parecer sucede con la extinción de la megafauna de mamíferos en el pleistoceno. Un tema bien de actualidad, y que Gloria le ha dado una visión distinta y novedosa.
