Assistant Curator, The Field Museum, Department of Geology, Chicago, IL
The Field Museum¹s Department of Geology seeks a broadly interested, productive colleague with an innovative specimen based research program in
paleomammalogy or paleobotany. Special areas of interest include systematics, phylogenetics, morphologic evolution, biogeography,
biostratigraphy and faunistics, and paleoecology. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D., a significant record of scientific achievement, and is
expected to build a strong research program with a field component. The position entails the curation of a major fossil mammals or fossil plants
collection. Curators participate in a wide range of public learning programs (including exhibits, mentoring, and informal education),
institutional advancement, administrative and service activities. Participation in undergraduate and graduate education at area universities is also strongly encouraged.
