Position responsibilities include determining daily field schedules for paleontological monitoring field staff, managing field staff, maintaining regular communication with construction superintendents regarding earthwork schedules and monitoring results; maintaining compliance with City, County, State, and Federal defined mitigation requirements; reporting fossil discoveries to appropriate agencies; ensuring completion of field work and daily/weekly reports as needed; conducting follow-up investigations; summarizing field data and interpretations; developing operating procedures; and providing customer service.  Qualified candidates must have a minimum of a M.S. Degree in Geology or a related discipline with an emphasis in paleontology/paleobiology (extensive operational experience may be substituted for academic experience); 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, experience in field paleontology and stratigraphy is preferred; excellent supervisory/managerial, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills; and a strong work ethic and desire for high quality customer service.  Must be able to coordinate and assist in fossil salvages.  Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs and have a valid Driver´s˙s License.  This position is a regular, full-time salaried position with a generous benefits package (e.g., medical and 403B retirement plan).  Anticipated annual salary range is $56,000 to $63,000 and based on individual qualifications and experience.
