The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County invites applications
for the position of Collections Manager OR Assistant Collections Manager
(depending on experience) for our extensive Invertebrate Paleontology
Collections. This position will complement existing staff and requires
excellent organization and communication skills.

The successful individual has primary responsibility for the day-to-day
care of the Invertebrate Paleontology collections, which includes
processing accessions, all incoming and outgoing specimens and loans,
and participating in collecting, preserving, documenting, sorting,
identifying and maintaining collections. This position also serves as
the liaison between curatorial staff, Conservation, and the Registrar.
In coordination with the educational and exhibit staff of the Museum,
this individual is expected to contribute to the science communication
mission of the institution. We seek an individual with extensive
experience with paleo-invertebrates. The applicant should have a M.S. or
B.S. degree in Invertebrate Paleontology or related field and preferably
knowledge of, and experience with, contemporary museum collection
management and specimen conservation techniques.
