The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County seeks a Curatorial Assistant for a full-time permanent position in the Department of Invertebrate Paleontology. Professional responsibilities include providing technical, curatorial, and clerical support for the curation and cataloging of our world-class fossil collections.

The successful candidate will meet the following requirements: · A college degree in an appropriate discipline with specialization in invertebrate biology or paleontology. · Expertise in the classification of mollusks and other invertebrates. · At least 1 year of experience working with fossil invertebrate collections. · Knowledge of the general principles of collections databases. · Knowledge of specimen conservation techniques in museum collections. · Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
