Palynology/Paleoecology
This is an opportunity to engage in research in paleontology. A generous research assistantship and paid tuition is available to qualified students. There is also an opportunity to become a Smithsonian Fellow and spend time at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (Panama). We are seeking students that can begin a graduate program as early as January 2011 but will welcome applications for the Summer of 2011 and the Fall of 2011. Minimum requirements are an undergraduate degree from an accredited university in the Life Sciences or Physical Sciences, a 3.0 GPA and 1000 or more on the GRE. Foreign students must receive a minimum of 79 (Internet-based), 550 (paper-based) or 213 (computer-based) on the TOEFL, taken within the past two years; (school code for TOEFL – 1198) or a score of 6.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
